Rules for the intake

You can get housing before you have received your admission letter!
We assign studios and apartments to students who haven’t received their admission letter, but you must document that you have applied for admission at a college or university.

First-year students from out of town have the highest priority.
First year students from out of town are given the highest priority when we assign housing in the period between June and October. Students from our member schools are always prioritised before students from other schools. In August each year we will check that all our tenants have been granted admission to colleges or universities. If you can’t document admission to a college or university, you will receive a notice from us wherein we terminate your rental agreement.

Avoid stress before the semester starts. Secure housing in a student house from the first of June.
The reason why we assign housing before the admission letters have been sent out is that Samordna Opptak sends out its admission letters at the end of July. We want to make it possible to avoid the stress that may occur when the students have to wait until the end of July to start looking for a place to live. Some students will still prefer to wait until they have received their admission letter, but for those who want to arrange for a place to live earlier in the summer, it is now possible to get a flat in a student house from June 1^st. Our experience is that quite a few students come to Oslo early in the summer, e.g. in connection with a summer job.

In August the available studios and apartments are assigned based on a raffle-system.
In August we will continue assigning available studios and apartments. Quite a few of the students who have completed their studies in the spring, choose to stay in their student house-flat over the summer. These flats will then be available in the beginning and middle of August and will be assigned to first-year students based on a raffle-system.
